Hey everyone,

Well here I am in Abbotsford, sitting in my brothers room.

Sorry for the lack of updates, you know I was so excited for having all of December off to bum around and work...but all I did was work(and bum around) and I didnt accomplish anything that I wanted.

Anyways, I am back home now, and its been really busy but good...sometimes a gong show, but for all that know me well, of course thats to be expected...imagine 5 silvas together.

Yesterday I went to that Body Worlds 3 exhibit at Science World in Vancouver with my sister, her friends, and little brother timmy. It was such a weird and surreal experience. I cannot believe how truly incredible our bodies are...so intricate, we truly have an incredible creator. I dont know if I really agreed with the whole idea of Body Worlds....(for all those who havent heard of it, Gunther V. Hagen plastinated real human bodies, after their deaths-with their permission, and put these bodies on display) There were comparisons of body parts that were destroyed by some disease to healthy body parts, and then whole human bodies in some sort of athletic poses putting certain muscles or body parts to their potential use. It was just weird to think that these bodies were once real people living lives, like you and me. I dont know, it would be intresting to hear your opinions on whether you agree or disagree with this whole idea. Rexy (dad) refused to go, he thought it was demeaning even though the models had given permission to allow their bodies to be used. I can see that, some of the poses the bodies were put in were strange...

oh science........

what is skin?

Hey everyone,
not much new here but I thought I would share a really funny story between two 5 year old boys from work
I was at the desk, thinking up something completely profound of course, and I overheard these two boys having a serious serious conversation, and my favorite part was:
boy 1- then why do we have skin?
boy 2- (in a very harsh tone) ITS TO KEEP ALL THE BLOOD FROM FALLING OUT!!!
boy 1- (very calmly responded) no! no, its becuase the thunder and lighting comes out....
boy 2- (long pause....and cutest thinking face) ok
boy 1 and boy 2 carry on playing "guys" -which is when you play with figurines
after I heard that conversation I tried playing guys too....but apparently I am not good at it, because I dont do the sounds well enough...this is not the first time that I have been informed that I suck at playing "guys" (i think its mostly because when i do play, i make akward conversations with the other kids figurines instead of fight.....)

sushi

Well today I took a break from my essay writting to eat a "fun size" package of M&M's (regular..anything else sucks) with chopsticks. It was pretty amazing.
It put me in the zone for more essay writting.
So thats just a little update on what I have been doing, writting essays and eating M&M's with chopsticks.
I hope it improves your life somehow

Cognitive process' and graying.....

Well,
I had a very traumatic episode this morning in which I would like to share with you all.
This morning, around 06:37 hours, I was putting on a beigey- gold eyeshadow when low and behold, a twinkle came from a silver strand in my black hair!!!!!!
I have gray hair! (or just one gray hair)
Look what the stresses of education has done to me....woe....WOE....lol
I couldnt believe it. At first I thought it was pretty cool, and thought of putting a streak of silver gray in my hair. But then I thought people would think I am goth, and not that thats bad, I just wouldnt want people to think I was goth...nothing else about my image would compliment that role.
But after ..oh about 12 seconds....it hit me. I am graying at the ripe age of 21.
The end is near....the following may recieve these items at the time of my soon to be, demise.
Vanessa- You will be the sole care taker of Choo-Choo
Heather- The blue hoodie that you like to wear all the time.
Timothy- My guitar for when you become a huge rock and roll star
Rexy- All the plans for secret inventions, buisness ventures and ideas that I have accumulated.
Chelsea- My pillow
Austen- my music collection
Jeff- My soul
If anyone would like to claim anything please notify me before the end of this semester (in which I am sure I will become overwhelmed and die) so I can notify my lawyer assigned to my will.
I leave you now.

Memoirs of the daughter of a Lankan

Well blog world, Rexy is now officially apart of this whole thing! Tonight I explained blogging in detail to my family while on speaker phone and let me tell you, Rexy is very excited. He would like to start a blog called Memoirs of a Lankan and was curious to know how many people would read it. He thinks thousands, I hope so, then my whole Rexy for president campaign will soar!! The process of explaining the process and creating a blog profile for my dad was a gong show. Probably because I was on speaker phone...the whole time, everyone was yelling and talking to each other..all I heard (at the same time) was:
mom- "look at his hair, timmy your hair is so long, you can braid it......not rexy for president, it should be red rexy..."
timmy- "frick, everyone is talking, dad...I cant.....everyone is talking....argh"
rexy (dad)- "timmy! timmy! ....tabitha, do you hear the way he talks to me...what company started this?...blogger, is it like a google?...is there spell check..will thousands read this?....i should write a book"

Needless to say, when Rexy for sure has a blog for all to read and comment on, it will definately be worth checking into. I cannot even believe how excited he was! Anyways, today was a good day, except for the first half, I wrote two midterms, they went okay, but I almost slept in!! If it wasnt for a text message from Austen S. then I would of missed my Religious Studies midterm..argh...although I was quite tired from the night before...because.......i ......got to see......(is the anticipation just killing you!) The Stills!
It was a awesome concert and there was a total of like 30 people at the most there...so a very, very intimate concert. Good music!
anyways,
i am off to bed, oh i cant even wait!
goodnite

also would like to give a little shout out to Kaylan, don't eat turnips.

sultans and snow

Well, there has been alot that has been going on in my life.
One of which is hating my life....first and foremost...its only mid- October and it snowed...I cant remember the last time I was warm...seriously, very depressing. Second school has consumed me, I have two midterms, papers, and lots of reading to catch up. Anyways, after thursday, all will be okay, just for a little while...
Pretty excited about the weekend and being at CLBI....so any of you clbi'ers that read my blog, i cant wait to see you...
anyways, thought i would give an update on why i havent been updating.
oh and jeff, i hope you have a safe trip home, i miss you already

Oh, and anyone wanting a Rexy update, he has found a new buisness venture in some sort of vegetable oil from turkey. He also doesn't know what to think of the whole "Rexy for president" campaign. I don't think he has a choice, but who knows, maybe the power will seem attractive to him later. He could always be the president of this vegetable oil company in turkey...he would be a sultan there!!!

Well, its time to bust out the good ol' parka for those trips down the alley!

it was good and then we played games, and i kicked everyones ass!!! And pastor Dennis' butt....ahem....
anyways
sorry..I may not have done so hot in the game of Settlers but I know that the next time I will take over the whole game board and own lots of sheep, and roads...and soilders...okay so I still dont really know how to play but whatever
I dont mean to brag or anything, but i am kind of a big deal!
well friends...

oh and more exciting news...my future husband, jeff rogness is coming to saskatoon...hopefully i can convince him to stay in canada, instead of living in the u s of a. Okay, so maybe I shouldnt blog that he is my future husband...but who knows...lol

ROAD TRIP 2006

Okay, so today I did quite a random thing! I packed my bag...okay, I am not going to lie, I packed my bags and headed out to medicine hat! So here I am , I drove five hours and am going to spend a couple days here visiting with an old friend: JOYCE
This is so exciting for me..I was so bubbly the whole drive down...the heat didnt get me down, the butterflies splattered on my windshield didnt even get me down. I did have quite an embarrasing mishap though. I called home to let them know what was going on, and Rexy being the concerned Father that he is asked if i checked my water levels and oil?! what...how do you do that? So Rexy advised me to stop at the next gas station, and check water and oil. So I had just passed Swift Current...(dont ask where that is, because I wouldnt be able to tell you)..and I didnt know when the next stop would be! Then about an hour later, there she was...a lonesome, run down Esso station (I just totally made that up, I have no idea what gas company it was now) . So I parked my car, and pulled the latch to open the hood. Then I battled the hood for about three minutes.(this was the amount of time when the gas jockey and his group of friends realized they should probably stop snickering at the city girl and lend her a hand) So my knight in shining armour and his possy gather round and open my car hood for me. Then he asks what the problem was...and I explained that I was told I should check my water levels....the gas jockey and his friends had no idea what I was talking about so they left me there, trying to figure out where I would put the water if I had none.....Then fortunately a saint...we will name him John Smith came by, and realized I was in some desperate situation and explained it was not water but Engine Coolant and that I was okay to go. Siggh.....Oh John Smith....He truly was a hero....and as for the gas jockey and his gang....I hope they are stranded at that lonesome esso for the rest of their lives.! So for all of you who forget...remember to check your engine coolant before a random road trip!!!

Ireland

Here we go on the bus, the bus trips were one of the craziest parts of folk fest.....it reminded me of travelling in Sri Lanka or Haiti where theres always room for one more person (or a group of 10 give or take a few). Of course the condition of our buses are a little better and I dont think we would of been able to get away with letting people hang out of the doors, but never the less....it was a "cultural experience"

So here we were in Ireland....
sigh......sweet, sweet Ireland....how your green is somewhat greener.....

I found two leprechauns....one named

Around the World in Three Days!

Hello blog world, yes it has been a long time! I was busy......no, I really was really busy! I worked all weekend and then during my free time I "folkfested!" It was my first folk fest and definately not the last, it was good times..(For anyone who doesnt know what folk fest is, its a celebration if you will....around the city are differnt pavillions from different countries...and you have a passport that allows you to check out all the pavillions . Its cool cause people of different heritages, countries and cultures show their true colors and you see and learn alot...).I loved how everyone in Saskatoon seemed to folk fest, it was awesome. I am not gonna lie, I was loving life.
There are too many stories to tell, so here are some pictures from my adventures! They should explain enough.

P.S. My goal for next year is to either make sure there is a Sri Lanken pavillion or create a story so good I can convince somebody I am 1/2 irish!......just for kicks....

Our ventures first started off in Norway. We had lefse, sailed on a viking ship and met alot of people that ended up being related to us!

"Twinkly"

Okay, so today I did something quite refreshing. I was random and around 10:30 I walked to this park where I was sure if I sat at the top of a hill I would be able to watch the fireworks from a fair that is in town. So I sat on the top of a mini...mini...mini "hill" listening to Helen Stellar- This time around. It was freezing...and I was bundled up, but it was a pretty cool experience. I felt like I was watching the surrondings around me from a planes view....it was pretty surreal....and the fireworks were pretty lame..In total I saw about four fireworks..apparently it was farther than I thought. I think the best part of the night was just sitting...I love that, it was a clear night, and everything was pretty calm. I had my doubts about this adventure, cause the park was pitch black, and I kept freaking myself out with sounds that didnt actually happen and all...But sitting there reminded me of this ride in Disney Land, the Peter Pan Ride. I think its my favorite ever. You ride in Captain Hooks Pirate Ship, and fly over different locations and scenes from Nevernever Land and London. The best is when you fly over London, because its at night, and its like looking at a starry sky, all the buildings lights are on and everything its twinkly.
I love twinkly things.

Goodnight

Weddings, Planes and Tunnels

Hello blog world, so I am back from B.C. Some of you may know, some of you may not, but two friends from CLBI got married this weekend.(Darby and Bryanna) It was a beautiful wedding, and good weekend all round, but I hate that it went by so fast. It was almost surreal, catching up with everyone, and then all of a sudden its over. Oh well, I guess thats how life is....So what is new with me.
I am sick.
I have this nasty head cold, and I hate it. I really want to just walk around with tissues wedged in my nose, but I dont think I would be able to make friends if I did that. Oh do you know what else I hate.....student loan applications...argh! Thats a whole other story that I wont even get into. So today was a very big day, I used my visa card for the first time...and it was pretty exciting, signing the reciept. With every swoosh of the pen for the dramatic loops in my signature I felt just a little more grown up. But I dont like the paranoia the credit card came with. Throughout the night I kept checking my wallet to make sure I had my card, and not some random hooligan who is recklessly spending money that I dont have! For all of you that were worried, thankfully each time I checked it was right where I left it...phew!

Down the mine I dreamed of cricket; I bowled imaginery balls in the dark; I sent the stumps spinning and heard them rattling in the tunnels. No mishap was going to stop me from bowling in the real game, especially this one.

its official

Okay, so this whole blogging thing went down hill fast.
Luckily I had a friend, being the good friend they are keep me accountable.
So I would like to give a shout out to Kortney
this blog is for you
On Saturday some girls from work and I went to a wedding reception. Okay we totally were not like the "Wedding Crashers." Although being the strangers in the wedding and trying to pretend like you knew everyone was really fun! It was a fellow employee's sons wedding, and she invited everyone from the Nursery to the dance part because there was a live band, and it was a big hall. Anyways, we ended up being the last ones there, and got kicked out...lol...and the whole night we avoided creepy single men, and danced to Elvis. Sigh, I love weddings. I am not going to lie, I started to cry when the bride and groom shared their first dance....and i started to cry when I saw dads dancing and twirling their daughters...oh and also shed a few tears when a fellow employee stepped on my toe during a polka...Good times, good times. Man do you ever get a work out doing a polka...Well its getting late, and I have to go to bed, I hope your dreams are full of polkas and twirling!

nrocpop

So tonite has been a rough nite...Heather (best friend\ roomate) was going to have a bag of popcorn for supper tonite. But not just any bag of popcorn, it was her last bag of popcorn that she was saving for a special occasion. Unfortunately, the two of us were distracted by commenting on random and old kins blogs ( i am not sure if that word was appropriately used) .....(what is the actual definition of kin)...anyways back to the popcorn...
heather burnt the popcorn, and then choked on the black smoke arising from the sad open bag of popcorn.

update on the popcorn, heather is at this time on my floor in my room eating the burnt popcorn, so the night is not as rough as thought

yesterday there was a random downpour and i was going outside to take the garbage out and i found a rainbow in the sky, so i thought i would share it with you

Second

Okay so I am being a good blogger, this is the second day of having a blog, and i am blogging. At the beginning of July I was back home in BC for a bit, and then my dad, timmy, and my lovely mother June drove me back for a little Silva Road Trip.
And my da
d found out that a boy that he grew up practically next door to him in Sri Lanka now lives in Saskatoon! Bizarre eh?! Saskatoon, I mean people are shocked that I moved from Abbotsford to Saskatchewan. But Sri Lanka...you go from humid 35+ to -40..i dont think anyone told them about the weather. Anyways the week before the roadtrip down, Oliver (my dads childhood friend) and my dad would talk on the phone, and they both seemed like giddy school girls. I had the opportunity to meet lots of Sri Lanken families(theres lots and lots of us here!) through Oliver and his wife Anouja. They took my phone number and will call me over for Curry and Hang out time! It was pretty sweet... I like to think of it like I am going back to my roots. Even just the first night when we went for dinner we were the first ones there, and we were already like one hour late, everyone showed up at their own accord after of course. (Sri Lanken time usually starts 2-3 hours after) Supper was late, spicy and everyone ate with their hands. Also I think there was a misunderstanding, my dad explained to everyone that I can understand Singhalese (Sri Lanken..if you will) so all night thats all people would talk to me in, and it would take me a long...long time to respond. Which is not in character for a Sri Lanken, especially that group, they were always going going going.
..so they all probably think i am "slow" Thats okay, by the end of the year i hope to maybe somewhat speak Singhalese. Well thats that for todays Blog, until the Third. GoodNight.

The First

Well this is very exciting, I am now officially blogging. Actually this is not my first type of blog and I always get so excited about these and never update them. But not this time, I will be motivated to keep all you important people updated on my well being and boredom and to anyone that feels that they arent important and dont care to be updated on my well being and boredom I just want you to know thats okay...Respect
Well today was another day at work, I got to go for a walk with these two kids and we stopped at a Starbucks and had some Jones Soda's. Anyways there was little guy who was telling me a story, and before he started he shared with me that it was to be a funny story but once he got going I had no idea what he was saying. But I dont think i have ever seen anyone share a funny memory with so much passion, and so much joy as this little boy that it was nearly impossible not to laugh! It was really cool. Starbucks customers that walked by couldnt help but smile, and there were these two elderly ladies at the table beside us and they were even laughing. It was intense and everyone got to be a part of this boys world just for a few moments.
I am going to do some errands and some cleaning now, but if you will so happen to look to your top left to the Spiffy Sri Lanken. That is my father, that is Rexy. Some of you may know him as Tabby's dad that doesn't remember your name. Some of you know him as Rexy. I thought I would just add that in there because of my new campaign (An operation or series of operations energetically pursued to accomplish a purpose).
So as I end this first blog I leave you with:
