Christmas, Silver Anniversaries, Blizzards, and now...
Okay, so I am the worlds worst blogger...thats okay. I will do some quick updates here:
Currently I am back in Saskatoon working on my second semester of University. I love going to school, I hate doing homework...I wish there would be some sort of honour system in which people who go to University are just trusted that they are diligent in learning, and therefore, need not to write exams, papers and other random stressful assignments. Oh well...one day in a perfect world right? Oh, but there was some exciting news...I survived that terrible blizzard. I was thankfully safe at home through the worst of it, but in the afternoon when Heather and Austen came back from school, we decided to drive to Austen's to watch Lord of the Rings. (In the blizzard) It was scary because you couldnt see anything in front of you, and 1/4 of the way we realized this probably was not a good idea, and we noticed traffic was getting worse and worse as we headed downtown. Apparently, everything shut down that afternoon, so everyone was in a panic to get home, and the 10 minute drive to Austen's house took us a whopping 2 1/2 hours. We heard such scary stories on the radio of people not being able to get their kids from school, people stranded in the blizzard or close to it because they ran out of gas...it was completely chaotic...its intresting to see how the true sides of human nature come out when they feel desperate...crazy stuff. Yea....it probably wasnt the smartest thing to drive out in a blizzard of -40 degrees c. and 80km winds.... but the movie was incredible of course...we even had time to watch Napolean Dynamite...
Here are some pictures that I took, but dont do the snow levels justice:
I had a wonderful Christmas (one day late) in Abbotsford with my family...got lots of sweet presents, saw friends, and celebrated Rexy and Junes 25th wedding anniversary!
It was very nice...but totally stressful because Vanessa and I promised my parents that we would plan the whole thing, and we basically did five days before the actual day.....invitations and all..lol...it was a true sri lankan party..procrastinated, unorganized and beautiful.
So thats about that...tell me stories...I need to get back to studying...here are some pictures of Rexy and June, the two loveliest people I know
